PowderMet2011

Automated Cells & Equipment recently returned from exhibiting at PowderMet 2011. This years event was held at the Marriott Marquis hotel and conference center located in San Francisco, California.

PowderMet 2011 San Francisco

Thank you to all that visited our booth at the PowderMet 2011 show. It was a pleasure talking to familiar friends as well as meeting new acquaintances. We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you with your Automation needs.

Factory of the Future
The factory of the future may not look like a factory at all. The Volkswagen automotive assembly plant located in Dresden, Germany looks more like a fancy hotel or an art gallery than a factory. Here is a video on what makes this factory so unique. Perhaps this will inspire us all to think "Outside the box" the next time we have an Engineering or Automation challenge. I hope you enjoy it.

ACE Model 366 Mag UnloaderACE Model 366 Mag Unloader
The ACE Model 366 Mag Unloader provides automatic unloading of metal (ferrous) parts from any furnace belt or other moving conveyor. When a row of parts is detected, the unloader automatically lowers to the pick position. The parts are then magnetically attracted to the unloader belt. Once the parts are on the belt, the mag unloader lifts, turns-on and discharges the parts onto an outfeed conveyor.
Part pick height is adjustable via a hand-crank with quick release lock. A linear scale allows a visual check of set up height.
Some features of the Model 366 include:
extruded aluminum guarding with vinyl coated wire mesh panels, front swing up door complete with lift assists and safety interlock switch, air-operated lift section with bell-crank stabilization and heavy-duty mounted bearings for reliable operation.

The lift section is counter-balanced to automatically raise the unloader in
the event of a loss of power or air. To see if a Model 366 Mag Unloader is right for you, contact Automated Cells & Equipment.
FANUC Robots = Flexible AutomationFANUC M410iB/140H Palletizing Robot
According to the Merriam-Webster
Online Dictionary Flexible means "characterized by a ready capability to adapt to new, different, or changing requirements". This defines what a FANUC robot can do for you. They are flexible, re-deployable, programmable, re-toolable and of course Reliable.
FANUC Robotics' recently introduced a new high-speed palletizing robot, the model M410iB/140H. This articulated robot has 5-axis, 2850mm of reach and a 140Kg load capacity at the wrist. The M410iB/140H robot features a compact wrist, slim arm design and air-I/O connections located near the wrist for ease of rigging.

This robot is designed to operate at up to 1900 cycles per hour, which equates to over 31+ pick and places per minute based on a 400mm/2000mm/400mm motion profile with +/- 0.2mm repeatability. This robot is ideal for case or bag palletizing applications.
The video shown below high-lights the flexibility that can be attained by using robotic automation. This robot utilizes a dual end of arm tool for picking both cased product as well as bagged product. Automated Cells can provide flexible robotic automation to meet your exact needs.
